Visual Snow Syndrome

It’s a heat shimmer
Covered in glitter
Like the crackle
Of a laser pointer
Painted pearlescent
Coating ever surface
In a psychedelic constant
A permanent bubbling in patterns
My overactive visual memory center
Sucking down sugar
Faster than its neighbors
Leaves me perpetually tripping
Not quite balls
But a low-grade come-down
