Pressure Difference (Poem 20 of 30: 2016)

How do I capture this vacuum
Cavernous yet brimming
The internal wail
Pinging off walls
Disrupting sonor

I just smile pleasantly
And get lost in the noise
Just keep the air moving
They tell me like I have other options
The stem regulates itself
I’m along for the ride of my life
So far it has been an all-splash-and-no-drop log flume

Like an idiot
I’m still hoping
Still holding out
For the tingler rush of a death drop with no restraints
To trick my brain in to surviving
Rather than tripping on the boardwalk
